- On November 28, Assist. Prof. Dr. Eglė Sakalauskaitė-Juodeikienė presented her paper "Jedrzej Sniadecki (1768-1838) on irritatio: The analysis of the last scientific publication" at the annual scholarly readings, named “Lectiones Vilnenses Andreae Sniadecki”. Dr. E. Sakalauskaitė-Juodeikienė is one of the organizers of the readings.
- On October 17, Prof. Eugenijus Gefenas was invited to deliver the paper "Emerging frameworks of ethics review for non-health related research: The EUREC's perspective" in the international conference "Research ethics in human and social sciences" at the LUMSA University in Rome (Italy). - On August 13-16, Prof. Eugenijus Gefenas, Assist. Prof. Vygintas Aliukonis and Assist. Prof. Vilma Lukaševičienė presented their papers at the 37th European conference on Philosophy of Medicine and Health care "Bioethics and the philosophy of medicine after COVID", organized by the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare, in Manchester (the UK). - On July 14, Assist. Prof. Dr. Eglė Sakalauskaitė-Juodeikienė presented her paper "Jean-Martin Charcot: From morbid anatomy of cerebral hemorrhage to detailed description of lymphatic system in the brain" in the International Society for the History of the Neurosciences conference in Paris (France). - In June, Prof. Eugenijus Gefenas was appointed as a member of the executive committee of the Council for the International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS). CIOMS is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization established jointly by WHO and UNESCO in 1949. CIOMS mission is to advance public health through guidance on health research and policy, including ethics, medical product development, and safety.
- On June 9-10, the annual meeting of the Nordic-Baltic Network for Philosophy of Medicine, organized by the Center for Health Ethics, Law and History, took place at the Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University. The program can be found here.
